If given the opportunity to live during a different artistic movement other than now, which one would you choose? and why?
Definitely the second half of the 1960's and in Swinging London. This period
attracts me a lot and has a HUGE influence on me, this is why I'd really want to be part of everything of that period in time. "Swinging Sixties" is a rebellious time, it brought about innovation, unique style, exciting discoveries, and trends that continued to develop in the 70s, 80s, 90s and the 2000's, - it was a youth-oriented phenomenon! It was a period of optimism and hedonism, cultural and sexual revolutions.
Art, music, cinematography, fashion, literature, politics, and people's mind, everything were changed! For the first time, young beginners became the trendsetters, idols and leaders who tried to be independent and unpredictable, who sailed exclusively against the current. And this was reflected in everything from the popularity of British music groups that swept the world, to the changing image of every woman walking down the street. Can you imagine? Expression, love of freedom, and the spirit of protest were the necessary qualities for which the society of that time, tired of the deliberate sexuality of the 40's and the stiffness of the 50's, was starved.
For the first time the world of art began to manage new, fresh faces, carrying bold ideas, vital energy and the desire to turn and change the whole world. It's an incredible and important time.
If you could revolutionize one aspect of contemporary society through your work, what would it be?
Creativity. Since contemporary society is shaped by the complex conditions of modernity (politics, environmental problems, economic etc), which revolutionizes all spheres of modern life, I believe that creativity is the main quality in shaping today's innovative personality.
I would like all people to become creators and to be able to develop in themselves the ability to be active, independent, selective in artistic perception, to avoid automatisms, and accumulated techniques. I believe that nowadays people should not just be innovative individuals, but also demonstrate frankness, tolerance, approving attitude to
original thoughts and ideas, creativity that stimulates originality and striving for novelty,
creation, and positive changes.
What life-altering moment or event should every human ideally get to experience at least once in their lives?
Failure. There are failures in the life of every person, but they make some stronger and deprive others of their vitality. You have to understand that failing is an important step towards achieving the goal. It awakens the will power of a person, activates strengths.
Failure teaches, it should serve as an impetus for further work. Failure is a kind of intermediate option on the way to success.
Life is a magnificent web of dreams vs reality and aspirations vs expectations, the chaos has cadence even if sometimes it demands to be explained. How do you live life to the fullest when it is also vulnerable fragile?
I believe that vulnerability determines the ability to feel, accept, and enjoy life. To feel is to be vulnerable. To feel is to LIVE. Creativity, love, resentment are impossible without vulnerability. Just accept the fact that you are afraid of something, ask for forgiveness,
admit your feelings.
You know that happiness is fragile, and therefore you are trying to expect the worst. But nothing is forever, nobody is forever. I think we should relax, enjoy it to the fullest and let things to be. If it has to happen, it will happen. "Cultivate the power of the spirit - stop playing helplessness and powerlessness. Practice tranquility and calmness - give up anxiety as a lifestyle." Enjoy and live ;)
The world is always revolving with billions of neurons firing at a rapid pace among its inhabitants, everyone is distracted or merely daydreaming. Being at the center and given a podium at center of the world, you are granted 30-seconds to talk to every living person on Earth, all will listen and put to heart what they hear from you. What will be your message?
Well, these are my “levers”, which are really leading me during many years through
everything:
"1. Believe in yourself. What matters is only your belief in yourself and no one else.
2. It always seems impossible until it's done. (c)
3. In those moments when you're choking despair when you think you've got nothing going forward and that nothing can be done, only in such moments, you really go forward. (c)
4. The struggle you're in today is developing the strength you need for tomorrow. Don't give up.
5. Don't be sad. Sooner or later, everything will become clear, everything will fall into place and build a single, beautiful circuit as a lace. It will become clear why it was needed because everything will be right. (c)"
